For the second straight year, senior-rank scouts (First Class and above) will be headed to North Conway, NH for a weekend of skiing, snowboarding, tubing, snow shoeing and/or general snowy merriment. We will again be staying a the Beast ( a huge house with a sweet game room and big screen TV)!

The last 30 minutes of our next troop meeting (October 4th) will be dedicated to our upcoming high adventure trips. All scouts and parents are invited to attend an informational presentation about Maine High Adventure and Philmont Scout Ranch.
The meeting topics will include:
· Review requirements for participation (age, swimming requirements, physical requirements, etc)
· A slide show of the Troop’s previous trips
· Testimonials from Scouts and Adults who have already attended
· “Estimated” costs
· Gear discussion
· Q&A Session
Come see pictures and hear stories from Troop 114 scouts and leaders who have attended these high adventure programs in past years. This will be a great opportunity to learn about these opportunities, even for those not planning to attend the upcoming trips.

_Philmont Scout Ranch – Summer 2013
The following summer (2013), we will be headed west for a 12-day backpacking trip through the Rocky Mountains of Northern New Mexico.

(OK, so I copied those last two lines from the other high adventure trip… but it’s still true J)
