Boy Scouts of America Prepared for Life

Boy Scout Troop 114

Boy Scout Troop 114 offers a year-round adventure based program designed to offer and encourage effective character, citizenship, and fitness for boys ages 11-17.

Our regular meeting schedule runs from September through June. We meet Tuesday’s at 7:00 until 8:30 at the First Congregational Church in Shrewsbury, Massachusetts.

Our Troop’s History

February 2016 will mark the 100th anniversary of Shrewsbury Boy Scout Troop 114. The troop, which has been chartered by the First Congregational Church of Shrewsbury (FCC) since 1916, is one of the oldest troops in Mohegan Council as well as one of the oldest troops within the Boy Scouts of America (BSA).

In 2016, Troop 114 will celebrate its centennial with a variety of events. For more information, email or visit the Facebook page

Scouting Events

To further scouting’s goals and develop leadership, Troop 114 engages in a variety of activities from camping, hiking, canoeing, and orienteering, as well as participating in projects to serve the community.

Campouts and overnights take place monthly and we attend a week of Boy Scout camp each summer. A High Adventure trip is offered every year to eligible scouts.

Merit Badges

Merit badges are awards earned by youth members of the Boy Scouts of America (BSA), based on activities within an area of study by completing a list of periodically updated requirements. The purpose of the merit badge program is to allow scouts to examine subjects to determine if they would like to pursue them as a career or vocation.
